This is a virtual performance and arrangement of Lady of Knock on St. Patrick's Day during the COVID 19 Pandemic Lockdown.Written by Irish singer Dana Rosemary Scallon in 1981, ths hymn tells of the story of Knock in County Mayo. On August 21, 1879, 15 local people saw the apparition of the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, St. John the Evangelist, and a lamb standing on an altar before a cross at the south gable of Knock Parish Church.

Angels Falling
based on the recorded sounds of the strings inside of a piano.
The specific techniques used were plucking the strings, scraping the strings with fingernails, hitting the strings and string glissandos. These taped sounds were then arranged to form a musical composition.

About

Jennifer Castellano received her Bachelor of Arts in Music in classical piano from Manhattanville College and a Master of Music in composition from State University of New York at Purchase. She has studied piano with Donna DeAngelis, Catherine Coppola and Flora Lu Kuan and composition with Mary Ann Joyce-Walter, Huang Ruo and Joel Thome. She has studied organ with David BaranowskI and Jennifer Donelson-Nowicka.She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC and was a featured soloist in the 2008 Summer Concert Series in Cape Cod at the First Congregational Church in Wellfleet, MA. From 2010 to 2013 she was a member of Piano Duo Venti Dita with Marvin Rosen, performing repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries written for piano 4 hands. She has played keyboard and sang in the the band, Under the Influence.Jennifer was commissioned to write music for the North/South Consonance Chamber Orchestra conducted by Max Lifchitz and was selected by the New Jersey Music Teachers Association to be the 2012 Commissioned Composer. Her music has been performed in the United States, Armenia, Brazil and Korea and recorded performances of her works have been featured on Classical Discoveries hosted and produced by Marvin Rosen on WPRB 103.3 FM Princeton, NJ, Music of Our Mothers] hosted by Ellen Grolman on WFCF 88.5 FM St. Augustine, FL and Monday Evening Concert hosted by Tom Quick on FM 98.5 CKWR Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.As a Music Engraver, Jennifer has helped produce and prepare scores for living composers, The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music SchooLp and Imgaine Music Publishing.Jennifer, who is both visually and hearing impaired, currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Adult Musicians with Hearing Loss and has served as Media/Public Relations Coordinator for New York Women Composers. Jennifer also serves as organist at Our Lady of Hope Chapel at Sing Sing Correctional Facility and is member of the Holy Rosary Church Choir and Handbell Choir.She is a member of the recreation staff applying music therapy techniques at [Sunshine Children's Home & Rehab Center] (https://sunshinechildrenshome.org/), a nursing facility that specializes in the care and treatment of medically complex children who require post-acute, rehabilitative care.
